Allright, I be assumin' that ye be usin' the round stick as a type o' wheel-like construction?

Usin normal math(pi x dia) I'd say 9.42cm but I wonder what the catch is.

The world we are in today is nothing like the world as we knew it. A riddle these days can't be that easy, can it?

Then again, the riddle said we'd be moving it with using the stick and the board.

It never stated we can't lift the board with our hands on the other end makin it laying flat in the air.

yet it did lad, have yeself a looksee at the diagram up above

falin' more precise variables, we be assuming perfect conditions and be focussin' on the provided setup
fo' the purposses o' this riddle, assume there be several sticks so it'll keep its balance

that'll keep the balance and give the same displacement as the ol' riddle be askin'

In that case it would be (dia x pi) as I allready thought before. 1 circumference.

If it would only be resting then it would matter how long the board would be. The shorter it would be, the more it would tilt the can to the right side while moving left. It would not be enough intel to get the riddle to work.

Ye be right in thinkin' that the center o' the stick moves 9,42cm. However, ye be forgettin' that the board not be glidin' frictionlessly on top o' the sticks.

I don't think we are meant to take variables into account that we don't have access to, or speculate about tilting and what not.

But then we are still stuck on just 9,42cm, which was so easy it's sort of hard to believe there is no catch indeed.

remember lads, it's not a frictionless wheel, it be restin' on top of the rotatin' stick

the can of water is still on the same place on the plank...., the plank moved....

for the record, our frame o' reference be the giant collection of particles we refer to as 'earth'

try it out with a ruler an a pen or sumthin'

uw verplaatsingsvector is de raaklijn aan de cirkel van de stok, dan heb je frictie nog waar je rekening mee moet houden, maarja vectors etc zit echt heel ver weg

ya don't need to be lookin' that far, just try it out and ye'll see

9,42cm x 2 de stok rolt 9,42cm ver maar de plank erop rolt ook 9,42cm ten opzichte van de stok ( zoals vinni zei, try it out with a pencil)

I tried too and yes it seems correct. Damn it was hard to imagine without real life reference.
